Meet the Coaches

Nigel Marples

Head Coach

Nigel Marples, a current elementary PE teacher and former professional soccer player, has always had a love for playing sports and working with young athletes.

He grew up competing and playing sports of all kinds at home, on the street, in the yard, at school, and for competitive clubs. He eventually focused on soccer and played NCAA Division 1 for Towson University and then professionally in Canada, the US, and Denmark following graduation. He has now taught elementary and middle school PE for seven years and has coached athletes of all ages and skill levels for over 10 years.

Nigel had many inspiring teachers and coaches throughout his academic and athletic career and aspires to impact others in a similar way. This summer at The Panthers Sports Camp he is looking forward to having fun alongside West County’s upcoming athletes and to helping them build confidence and character. Additionally, he is excited to mentor the camp counselors and grow their awareness of the impact they have on others.

Staff

Counselors

Our camp counselors are high school and college athletes who are excellent role models, demonstrate commendable character, and love to play sports. These young men and women are motivated to have a positive impact on the lives of young athletes and strive to teach campers how to be their best and to demonstrate sportsmanship.

As excellent role models, counselors embrace campers for who they are, not who others think they should be. Counselors strive to make everybody feel safe, accepted and successful.

Counselors in training

Our camp CITs are high school underclassmen who aspire to be thoughtful leaders, maintain good standing in school, and love playing sports. Each CIT is mentored on how to lead and care for others by his or her councilor and senior staff throughout the week.
